Operation Patriot Games:

Situation Report

Approximately 72 hours ago, Navy Pilot Lt. Commander John Lewis was shot down over the SafId Kōh Mountains of eastern Afghanistan. Lt. Commander Lewis was flying an F/A-18C Hornet when he was shot down. He was able to eject safely and, Using tactics learned in his SERE (Survive-Escape-Resist-Evade) training, Lt. Commander Lewis was able to arrive safely at the nearby American Embassy Approximately 5 kilometers from where his fighter was downed.  However, due to high volumes of enemy activity, Lt. Commander Lewis is unable to receive sorely needed medical attention as no replenishments can make their way in or out of the embassy due to a period of heightened security. To complicate matters, Lt. Commander Lewis’ fighter was equipped with a highly advanced surveillance system containing highly classified images that could severely Compromise U.S. troop movements if enemy fighters are able to secure the surveillance equipment.

Mission Objectives

Search and destroy:

A tac-Team must be inserted near ground Zero, Make their way to the crash site, and destroy the Surveillance equipment.

Medical Aid Mission:

Secondarily, the team must make their way to the American Embassy Approximately 5 kilometers from the crash site and deliver a specified medical kit to Lt. Commander Lewis.

Tactical Mission Plan:

STAGE 1:

In order to avoid detection by hostile forces on the ground and to stay above radar, we will need to employ a High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) Parachute Jump. The Jump will be from above 10,000 ft., and thus will require chute navigation and lots of hang time.

*For this stage of the mission each member will perform 50 Supermans followed by 50 V- Sits

STAGE 2:

Following High Altitude jumps, the gear in your individual assault packs inevitably gets shifted around and the packs themselves become unorganized. The team will need to take a moment to stage their gear and reorganize equipment before moving on.

*For this stage of the mission, team members will need to select a Sandbag (Assault Pack). Once all members have selected a pack, each team member will hold a leaning rest position (Push-up position) while one member completes 25 sandbag “Up and Over” squats. One member at a time will be doing sandbag “up and over” squats while the remainder of the team holds the leaning rest position. Once all 4 team members have completed 25 Sandbag “Up and over” squats, they may move on to the Objective.

Mission Objective: Search and Destroy

Stage 1:

It has been deemed that the Surveillance equipment is unsalvageable yet may still contain pieces of salvageable intel. Thus the Primary objective is to destroy the highly sensitive equipment completely. Using explosives is a no go! We are obviously Persona Non Grata (unwelcome personnel in enemy territory), and therefore noise discipline is a must. As a result we must destroy all by hand. We will do this by setting up an active and alert perimeter around the crash site. Team members will then take turns destroying the equipment while the rest of the team maintains the security perimeter.

*For this stage of the mission, each team of 4 will break into 2 teams of 2, Alpha Team and Bravo team, and both teams will rendezvous by the designated crash site. They will have two tasks. The first is to set up the perimeter and the second will be to destroy the surveillance equipment. Alpha team will set the perimeter. They will do this by staging themselves just outside the crash site and begin doing burpees. Bravo team will commence the destruction objective by completing 50 Partner medicine ball slams. Once Bravo team has completed their medicine ball slams, they will relieve alpha team on the perimeter. Alpha team will then move to complete the destruction objective by doing 50 partner medicine ball slams while Bravo team maintains the perimeter with continuous burpees. Once both teams have completed the partner medicine ball slams the equipment has been destroyed and the objective is complete.

Extraction: Mission Complete.

Stage 1:

Once the surveillance equipment has been destroyed, your team will rendezvous at a specified drop point. A Naval C-130 will have executed a medical supply drop Which your team will unpack.

*For this stage, Team Members will select a sand bag (medical Kit) from the supply drop Crate. They will then bring it to the “kit Unpacking point”. This will be a 20’ lane with two team members at either end. Each team member will take turns bringing the Sandbag (med-kit) up or down the lane. They will transport the med-kit by means of overhead walking lunges. Once the member gets to the end of the lane he will then hand the kit off to a different team member. The Supply drop crate will be considered completely unpacked when all team members have made 2 trips down the lane.

Stage 2:

Once the Medical Kit has been unpacked, the Medical supplies must be delivered to the Lt. Commander at the embassy Approximately 5 kilometers away.

*This will be accomplished by all four team members transporting one sandbag (Medical Kit) the necessary 5 kilometers (5k) to the Embassy (finish line)

Rules:

  • Each team will be made up of 4
  • Each movement must be performed as demonstrated and all required reps must be performed.
  • Each teams gear (sandbag) for up and over squats will be 30lb uniformly.
  • Each team’s medicine ball will be 20lb. uniformly.
  • Each teams medical Kit (Sandbag) for the extraction (Overhead Walking Lunges & 5K) will be 10lb. uniformly.

Scoring:

  • Each team will finish their mission excluding the 5K as quickly as possible.
  • Each teams Score will be the time it takes to complete the 5K with the medical Kit.
